It was in May 2007, following a bizarre dream, John first put pen to paper. He wrote a memoir of his time in a local sixties band entitled “How things were”. Its publication raised funds for two cancer support charities. Based on his memoir, John wrote the play, “Band of Hope and Glory” before his creative writing journey led him to rhyme.
From an ever increasing and prolific pool of poetry and rhyme, fifty five light-hearted observations of everyday life have been selected for publication. These are complimented by masterful and humorous illustrations drawn by Justso James. This creative collaboration aims to produce knowing smiles and healthy moments of laughter for its readers.
Justso James has been a professional entertainer since 1988. He has performed his whacky magical act across the country, including TV appearances. With venues so varied, you name it he’s probably been there, seen it, done it!
Ever since he was able to hold a pencil, James has drawn for pleasure. When he became a Graphic Artist he realised his potential to entertain via a different medium and share the pleasure in his work with others.
As well as an excellent working relationship the guys have another thing in common - they have both had prostate cancer! This has enabled them to compare notes and support one another through a very traumatic period in their lives.
